The Gilliam Autism Rating Scale (GARS-3) is one of the most widely used instruments in the world for the assessment, identification and severity estimation of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), between the ages of 3 to 22. The new version now includes items and subscales reflecting DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for ASD. The items are grouped into six subscales: Restrictive/Repetitive Behaviors, Social Interaction, Social Communication, Emotional Responses, Cognitive Style, and Maladaptive Speech. Normative data (N = 1,859) have been renewed and were collected in 2010 and 2011. Completion time: 5 to 10 minutes.
